AutoCloser is a lightweight Chrome extension built to instantly close pop-up or redirect tabs that hijack your browsing flow. We respect your privacy fiercely—no creepy tracking, no selling data, no shady surprises.
The following Chrome permissions are strictly necessary for AutoCloser’s single purpose:
Granted only after you click the extension icon. Allows a quick scan of the currently active tab to detect whether it spawned a redirect. No page content is saved or sent anywhere.
Lets AutoCloser observe newly opened tabs (just ID + URL) so it can close malicious redirects immediately. We never read your tab history.
Optional, for a tiny Chrome notification (“Tab closed!”) when AutoCloser blocks something. You can disable it in the popup.
Chrome Manifest V3 requires this permission to spawn an invisible document where redirect-analysis code runs. The off-screen context is sandboxed and never displayed.
We share nothing with third parties. Full stop.
